Forest School – Highlights

Over the last term the children have thoroughly enjoyed getting back to nature with their Forest School sessions. The weather has been great, and the sun has been shining on all the wonderful autumnal colours.

They have had a lot of fun engaging in all our Forest School activities along with producing nature art inspired by Andy Goldsworthy, building elaborate bug hotels in trees and beginning to learn basic tool safety using hand drills and bow saws to create nature tree cookies.

They have also been engaging in a new activity called Nordic tree weaving, where they collaboratively make friendship bracelets from wool hanging from trees. This has become very popular, and I can see that it will be an activity they will enjoy for many more sessions to come.

Although the weather has been really kind, the days are quickly getting colder. It is important for all the children to bring extra warm clothes and gloves to keep them warm in the winter months.
