Admissions

As a community school, Norfolk Local Authority manage our admission process. If you wish to apply for a place at our school, please click to view the Norfolk school admission page

Reception Admissions

Mulbarton Primary School admission starts from ages 4-5 in the Reception year. A child is due to start school in September if they turn 4 on or before the 31st August of the same year.

We currently have two Reception classes with a capacity of 60 children in total.

In November, December and January we hold open mornings / afternoons for new parents who are looking to apply for a place. Details will be available on this page when released.

Transition

We believe that children settle better at school if they have quality transition experiences, so children are invited to come along to school during the summer term as well as attending earlier with their pre-school leaders.

In July, we invite parents / carers in for a woodland visit (one-to-one meeting) with their class teacher before bringing the children into school in small groups.

In September, children attend school for one week on a part-time basis before being full-time.

We work closely with parents to ensure the whole process is as smooth as possible. Our experience over a number of years has shown this to be a successful method of admission.
